Job Overview
A market leader in the design and manufacture of, hi-speed high bandwidth electrical connectors and cable assemblies for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Their products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Has an immediate need for a Sr. SI engineer to work with directly with customers and internal engineering teams on the development of new Hi-speed interconnects and cable assemblies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed connectors and cable-based interconnects
•Component development as well as customer support on new product introduction
•Contribute to an established team of dedicated signal integrity engineers and engineers of other disciplines
•Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows
•Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of next-generation high-speed I/O interconnect products
•Assist with providing solutions to customers across a wide range of sectors with their high-speed data transmission requirements
•Support the internal Sales Engineers to develop strategies for product break-in at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise
•Identify and resolve signal Integrity issues in PCB layout
•Design, build, and measure circuit boards for the measurement and verification of products
•Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital transmission, PCB layout principles for high-speed digital design
•Serve as the primary SI technical point of contact for strategic customers.
•Participate in customer meetings and provide support by addressing customer requests and ensuring timely resolution of SI-related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred
•7+ years of industry experience with an understanding of electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity
•Experience in component design and application of high-speed connectors into communications equipment is a plus
•Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging with TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors and similar measurement equipment
•Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MATLAB, and ADS
•Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain components and circuit characterization including understanding of test and calibration methods
•Excellent communication, customer-facing, problem solving skills.
