Job Overview

Excellent opportunity for creative development engineer to join a leading manufacturer of electronic connectors and cable assemblies in their electric vehicle development group and be responsible for the value added and value engineered activities for hi-voltage and low voltage components and systems. Will be responsible for identifying and implementing programs to continuously improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements, will be key experts in the products they are responsible for.

Job Responsibilities:
⦁    Analyze and hands on evaluation of High Voltage contactors designs, components, supply chains and manufacturing processes to identify Value Added Value Engineering opportunities.
⦁    Develop execute, and report on Plans to maximize the VAVA opportunities.
⦁    Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, purchasing, external suppliers, reliability labs and manufacturing) on executing the VAVE opportunity plan.
⦁    Develop and execute relevant product validation test plans as required, in close consultation with customers, the engineering team and reliability test labs.
⦁    Provide technical support, root cause/failure analyses and problem-solving assistance on manufacturing or quality issues related to product design intent, function, and application.
⦁    Collaborate closely with production plant personnel to help address product or process issues, customer complaints and field issues, as required.

Required Experience:
⦁    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Physics, or equivalent field.
⦁    1-3 years of professional working experience in the automotive industry
⦁    Broad knowledge of automotive inter- connectin industry standards/systems, desing practices, materials, and manufacturing processes.
⦁    Preferred experience includes:
⦁    Hands-tear down.
⦁    Hi-voltage contactors, relays and interconnects
⦁    Experience using engineering tools such as tolerance stack up analysis, DFMEA, 8D etc.
⦁    Ability to effectively organize and prioritize issues and make intelligent, timely decisions independently or in coordination with other cross-functional teams.
⦁    Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal and interpersonal.
⦁    Experience with MS office Software suite.
