Job Overview

Overview: 

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for meeting/exceeding their regional sales budget of RF/Microwave and fiber optic connectors, cables, cable assemblies, components, antennas, and other products. The RSM is responsible for growing their geographic region through identifying product opportunities, new customers, and new programs utilizing relationship selling and demand creation. The RSM is the local company presence for the customer and supports all facets of the sales process to ensure a positive customer experience. 

Responsible for  IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, ND, SD, WI

Essential Functions: 

•  Manage and lead sales activities needed to meet/exceed new orders budget. 

•  Build, maintain, and execute against Opportunity Sales Funnel for regional growth. 

•  Develop Account Penetration Plans for the assigned territory leveraging existing and new products and customers.

    Expand from traditional markets into diversification markets to foster growth in the region. 

•  Develop customer relationships with key contacts within territory. 

•  Identify products to ensure Microwave Components is a valued resource for customers’ current and future applications. 

•  Work closely with Inside Sales personnel, management, administrative staff, and vendors to support customer needs. 

Minimum Requirements: 

•   RF/Microwave/Fiber Optic product knowledge 

•   Familiarity with the RF/Microwave market segments particularly Military and Aerospace.

•   Customer familiarity/relationships in territory 

•   Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 

•   Five years of prior RF/Microwave industry experience OR 

•   Equivalent combination of education and experience 

•  Current driver’s license and reliable automobile 

•  Ability to operate remotely in a home office environment. 

Other Requirements: 

•   Excellent communications skills, verbal and written. 

•   Ability to travel a minimum of 50% 

•   Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills. 

•   Effective planning, time management and prioritization skills 

•   Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook;

•   Excellent presentation skills.

•   Successful sales/business development growth history with demonstrated ability to identify and close opportunities. 

•   Familiarity with Export Controls is desired. 

•   Business references to be provided upon request.
