Job Overview

The Product Manager EV Battery Solutions is responsible to shape, execute & grow the High Energy Battery Solutions (interconnection boards, module to module connections, and other battery applications) portfolio, with key focus on optimizing the products’ market position and financial returns, consistent with corporate and Automotive business unit strategies. The candidate will lead the effort of developing EV Battery solutions business plan, product strategy and product marketing, and overseeing its execution to maximize the value generation throughout the responsible product life cycle.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

1. Developing business plan and product strategy

• Working cross functionally with regional team to define sales, technology and operations strategies and goals in line with financial goals
• Working with Global Team (regional product managers as well as Global Lead) on strategy and business plan development
• Defining resource requirements to execute the product roadmap
• Establishing pricing boundaries
• Developing the annual operating plan (revenue, gross margin and standard margin)
• Developing the product and technology roadmap for battery solutions
• Driving efficient and effective use of capital investment to ensure alignment with business strategy and financial expectations
• Understanding industry trends, megatrends and customer needs and proactively shifting strategic direction to capture opportunities and / or avoid risks
• Gathering insights from established OEMs, emerging OEMs, Battery Suppliers, etc about new technologies, new architectures and new business models
• Developing competition benchmarking for product line portfolio

2. Leading new product development

• Opportunity champion for PAC projects through sourcing phase
• Working with Global Team (regional product managers as well as Global Lead) on multi-regional quotations and opportunities
• Planning product launches, including the development of marketing and sales plan
• Providing demand forecast inputs to S&OP
• Participating customer engagement in support of defining product requirements and winning new business
• Working with operations to create a capital efficient manufacturing plan
• Managing make vs buy, in-house and outsourced production to maximize operating income
• Lead tactical execution (engineering, operations, procurement) for Time to Market

3. Executing post launch product management

• Managing the Profit & Loss statement for the assigned portfolios
• Delivering sustained profit growth
• Developing marketing materials for product value proposition and training sales team to promote EV batteries products to the customers
• Approving special pricing requests
• Tracking progress to the business plan and facilitating resolutions to gaps
• Being the champion for resolution of product issues (quality, delivery, etc.)

What your background should look like:

• BS in business, finance, engineering or other disciplines. MBA or MS is preferred.
• More than 15 years of experience in various Engineering, Business Administration and Sales assignments
• Have worked in at least 2-3 different functions such as business, sales, engineering, operations.
• Knowledge of the automotive industry and more specific of the EV market
• Strong background and experience in High Voltage Battery Architecture and/or Electrical components required
• Operational experience with electronics manufacturing / manufacturing engineering preferred
• International Experience preferred
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Clear strategic thinker with vision and ability to execute on priorities
• Team oriented working style with proven track record in organization and planning skills
• Have demonstrated strong leadership skills, including experience building highly motivated teams
• Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking and analytical skills
• Knows his customers market and competition stand in detail and able to drive appropriate tactics for growth short and long term
