Growing international manufacturer of electronic connectors for consumer electronics, telecom and data com applications has an immediate need for a E.E. Field Applications Engineer with strong Signal Integrity experience to be the primary company interface supporting regional sales representatives and customers concerning Signal Integrity technical issues, questions and recommendations. Meet with customers to understand their SI requirements and concerns, create test methods/plans, work with Mechanical Development Engineers to create preliminary product specifications. Make technical presentations to customers using test reports, simulations to present preliminary product specifications that address the customers needs/concerns, leading to a design win. Work with company’s engineering team to optimize designs and create new products. Support the company;s research, development and marketing efforts by helping to identify future technical trends/requirements by for connectors and harnesses pertaining to high frequency, high -speed and EMI. By networking with trade groups, standards committees and industry leaders, to provide input for development engineering and business/marketing direction for the company. Act as a technical representative and attend trade symposiums and industry events, such as DesignCon and Display Week etc. manning the company’s trade booth, write and present technical papers.
B.S.E.E. and a minimum of 3+ years of experience.
Experience using ANSYS, HFSS or another 3D FEM solver.
Keen knowledge of signal integrity concepts, such as S-Parameters, jitter, crosstalk, EMI noise, ground bounce, ringing, reflections etc.
Strong analytical abilities to identify issues with high-speed connectors, components and cable assemblies.
Experience with high-speed lab equipment, such as vector network analyzers, bit error rate testers, and time-domain reflectometers.
Experience working with customers.
Experience with high-speed signals up to 112 Gbps.
Familiarity with common industry specs such as IEEE 802.3
Knowledge of CST Microwave Studio, Keysight ADS, and other SI tools is a plus
Experience with high-speed PCB design is a plus.
Ability to write or speak Japanese would be a plus.
